Cement kiln dust delivered by pneumatic tanker to batch plants, stabilization crews, and industrial accounts across the Houston metro and surrounding Texas counties. Reliable supply, fast quotes, and real people answering the phone.
Same-day turnaround during business hours.
Cement kiln dust, or CKD, is the fine particulate byproduct captured from the exhaust stream of cement manufacturing kilns. It contains calcium oxide, silica, alumina, alkalis, and trace minerals that give it both cementitious and strongly alkaline properties.
Because of that chemistry, CKD behaves a lot like lime and partially like Portland cement in the field. It reacts with moisture, neutralizes acidic conditions, and binds soil particles together as it hydrates. For construction and environmental applications where conventional lime or cement would work but cost more, CKD is often the smarter pick. Texas has plenty of jobsites that call for exactly this profile.
Houston-area clays (Beaumont, Lake Charles, and similar series) swell and shrink with moisture, wrecking subgrades and slabs. CKD dries wet soil, reduces plasticity, and raises bearing capacity so contractors can compact and build.
CKD's alkalinity and particle structure make it effective for solidifying sludges, drilling waste, and contaminated soils into handleable, transport-ready material for disposal or reuse.
When rain delays a job and wet subgrade is holding up compaction, CKD spread and mixed into the top 6-12 inches removes moisture and restores workability, often the same day.
In utility trench backfill and void filling, CKD replaces part of the cement in flowable fill mixes, lowering material cost while keeping the excavatable-but-stable profile crews need.
Mine reclamation, acidic waste neutralization, and a handful of specialty binder applications round out the list. We supply industrial buyers with consistent material and flexible delivery schedules.
Straightforward logistics for straightforward jobs. What you can expect:
| Detail | What We Offer |
|---|---|
| Delivery method | Bulk pneumatic tanker (25 ton max, industry standard) |
| Smaller quantities | Super sacks (2,000 lb) available on request |
| Minimum order | Full tanker loads preferred. Anything under 20 tons is a shortload and incurs a shortload fee. |
| Quote turnaround | Same business day during standard hours |
| Typical lead time | Next-day for in-stock grades, longer for specialty |
| Service area | Greater Houston + southeast Texas, statewide on contract |
| Payment terms | Standard commercial terms, negotiable on supply contracts |
We cover the greater Houston area and deliver into surrounding Texas counties on routine runs. Outside this list? Call us. Most of southeast Texas is within our normal service range.
We pick suppliers by two things: can they get material on the job when they say they will, and do they answer the phone when something changes. That's how we work, and that's how we expect our suppliers to work. What we hear from most of our contractor customers, and why we stay in the CKD business.
CKD is a byproduct of cement manufacturing, not the finished product. It has cementitious behavior from residual clinker content but is less reactive and less consistent than finished Portland cement. That makes it cheaper and well-suited to applications where full cement strength isn't needed, like stabilization, solidification, and low-strength fills.
In many Houston-area applications, yes. CKD's alkalinity and calcium content let it dry wet soil and reduce plasticity similarly to lime, often at a lower delivered cost. The right choice depends on soil chemistry, moisture, and target specs. We can walk through the tradeoff on a call.
We keep regular supply moving and can usually confirm availability on the same call. For very large or very urgent orders, call ahead so we can confirm trucking and source logistics before quoting.
Yes. We run routine delivery into surrounding southeast Texas counties and take jobs statewide under supply contracts. Tell us the city and we'll tell you what's feasible.
